The
History of Tooly
Part
2
As
time went by Tooly started to expand his crime syndicate until eventually
at the age of eleven he had managed to take over most of New Brighton.
But his rise to the top was not to be with total ease. For the past
two years a resistance group had been forming. It was made up of the
hardier New Brighton residents and they were`nt going to let this young
upstart ruin their lovely seaside town with its many beautiful demolished
buildings and attractive boarded up shops.
"No!",
They said,
"He has to be stopped and stopped soon".
The battle had begun.
Fighting broke out on the streets of New Brighton and chaos ensued.
Nowhere in the town was safe from the fighting, although the most memorable
massacre took place at the Post Office on Victoria road in what has
come to be remembered as the Battle of the Giro. On the day in question
Tooly lay in wait outside the post office and when the leaders of the
resistance arrived and cashed their state benefit Tooly ambushed them
with the aid of a rabid band of old age pensioners thus winning the
battle, forming strong allegiances with the local geriatrics and nicking
all the giro money.
